10 PLAYERS TO EXPERIENCE A FIRST IN THE BIG DERBY

In the 10th week of Trendyol Super Lig, a total of 10 players will have the opportunity to make their debut in a match between Galatasaray and Besiktas if given the chance during tomorrow’s derby.

After the Turkcell Super Cup match against Besiktas, Galatasaray welcomed Gabriel Sara, Elias Jelert, Roland Sallai, Ismail Jakobs, and Victor Osimhen to their squad. If coach Okan Buruk fields them, this will be their first appearance in the yellow-red jersey against the black-and-whites.

On the Besiktas side, Emirhan Topcu, Can Keles, Felix Uduokhai, Joao Mario, and Cher Ndour will also make their debut against Galatasaray if they take the field.

NECIP UYSAL BREAKS RECORDS

The player with the most appearances in Galatasaray derbies within Besiktas’s current squad is Necip Uysal. Rising to the A team in the 2009-2010 season, Uysal has played the most matches against Galatasaray among the current squad members. The experienced player has participated in 17 matches against the yellow-reds. However, he will miss tomorrow’s encounter due to a serious injury sustained earlier in the season.

BATSHUAYI AGAINST HIS FORMER TEAM

Michy Batshuayi, who began his career in Turkey by transferring to Besiktas for the 2021-2022 season, will face his former team in the yellow-red jersey for the first time. Last season, while playing for Fenerbahce, Batshuayi scored 1 goal in 2 matches against Besiktas.

GALATASARAY’S MOST EXPERIENCED PLAYER: FERNANDO MUSLERA

Fernando Muslera, the goalkeeper for Galatasaray, has the most experience of the derby atmosphere in the current squad. Transferred from Lazio in the summer of 2011, the Uruguayan goalkeeper has participated in 26 league derbies against Besiktas, achieving 13 wins, 5 draws, and 8 losses.

ICARDI HAS NOT GONE SCORELESS EXCEPT FOR ONE MATCH

Mauro Icardi, Galatasaray’s Argentine striker, has scored in every match he has played against Besiktas, except for one. The experienced forward has netted 5 goals in 4 matches, making him the top scorer against the black-and-whites.
