A loss of at least 1 billion TL for Galatasaray.

Galatasaray faced a significant financial loss of at least 1 billion TL after being eliminated by Young Boys in the UEFA Champions League play-off round’s second leg. By failing to advance to the Champions League group stage, the yellow-reds missed out on the 18.62 million euros in participation money from UEFA and an additional 9 million euros in broadcasting revenue (totaling 1 billion TL).

A Consolation of 4.5 Million Euros
Each win in the group stage would have been worth 2.1 million euros, and each draw would have brought in 700,000 euros in revenue. Galatasaray also lost these potential earnings. The team missed its chance to qualify for the Champions League for the 18th time and will continue in the Europa League, where UEFA will pay 4.31 million euros as a participation fee. In the Europa League, each victory earns 450,000 euros, and each draw brings in 150,000 euros in prize money.
