Abdullah Avcı, Trabzonspor Head Coach: “They Have Leaked My Phone Number! Please Leave Me and My Family Alone.”

Trabzonspor head coach Abdullah Avcı made statements following their 2-0 defeat to Rapid Wien, which resulted in their elimination from the UEFA Europa League.

After losing 1-0 in the first leg, Trabzonspor were knocked out in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League with a 2-0 defeat in the return leg.

“Uğurcan Kept Us in the Game”

“In the first half, the opponent was superior. Uğurcan kept us in the game during that period… Around the 60-65 minute mark, we made 3 substitutions and switched to a 4-4-2 formation. Our aim was to play in the opponent’s half. However, this game, at this level, is about team defense, applying pressure correctly, and maintaining intensity. As time went on, we lost our discipline.”

“We Apologize”

“We had 2 chances, both after going 1-0 down. If we had taken those chances, we might have gotten back into the game; but then we lost our focus again… Then came the red card and the 2-0 scoreline. Today, the opponent played better than us… We are sorry, and we apologize to our fans.”
