ABOUT CLAIMING THE NORRIS POLE: “MAYBE I WAS LUCKY”

Lando Norris acknowledged that they couldn’t match the pace of Ferrari and Red Bull during the qualifying sessions, but he stated that his lap was fantastic.

Norris secured pole position after George Russell’s crash in the final moments of the qualifying sessions.

Max Verstappen, who had set a purple sector time just before the crash, was unable to complete his lap and ended up in second place.

Expressing that luck was on his side, Lando Norris said, “We changed a lot of things and reviewed many aspects. Carlos and Max said they could have done a faster lap, but I will be satisfied with what I have.”

“We fell behind in terms of speed throughout the weekend; we weren’t at the pace of Ferrari and Red Bull. Sometimes as a driver, you need to do something, and I did that.”

“Maybe I was lucky, but I will definitely accept this result,” he concluded.
