Roma has parted company with technical director Daniele De Rossi after a poor start to the Serie A season. De Rossi, who took over from Jose Mourinho in January, was dismissed following Roma’s failure to secure a single win in their first four matches of the current campaign.
The Italian club announced De Rossi’s departure after a string of underwhelming results that included three draws and one loss, leaving the team struggling to gain momentum in the league. Last season, under De Rossi’s leadership, Roma finished 6th in Serie A, but the start of the 2024-25 season has fallen far short of expectations.
De Rossi, a Roma legend who played for the club for 17 years and captained the side for many of them, began his coaching career in 2021. Before taking charge of Roma, the 41-year-old worked with the Italian National Team and managed SPAL in the 2022-23 season.
Roma’s decision to part ways with De Rossi comes as the club looks to reignite its campaign and regain its footing in Serie A.
