Anthony Gordon Signs New Contract with Newcastle, Ending Liverpool Speculation
Anthony Gordon has formally put a stop to rumors that he would join Liverpool by agreeing to a new, long-term deal with Newcastle United. During the summer transfer window, Liverpool showed interest in the 22-year-old winger, who has been playing well for Newcastle and won a berth in the England squad. Gordon, however, has made it apparent that his goal is to assist Newcastle in ending their 70-year trophy wait by pledging his future to Eddie Howe’s team.
Gordon’s Dedication and Aspirations
Gordon told Newcastle’s club media that he was happy with his life at the club and that he wanted to win trophies at St. James’ Park. “I simply believe that the club is in a fantastic position. The market has been rising steadily since the takeover. In terms of our playing styles, the gaffer and I are a wonderful match. “I adore this place.”
“The short story is we need to win a trophy.” he said, outlining his objective to break the club’s protracted trophy drought. The fans have waited so long that it would be unthinkable to win a trophy here. One of my biggest goals is to be a member of the team that eventually succeeds.
A Close Relationship with Newcastle
Gordon highlighted his sense of belonging at Newcastle, attributing this to the Geordies’ friendliness and the team’s encouraging atmosphere.
“The laid-back and hospitable nature of Geordies has always made us feel at home. I feel really connected to everyone—my teammates, my supporters, and everyone else involved.”
