Arsenal, determined to end its long wait for a Premier League title, is eyeing the transfer of Victor Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray.
Osimhen, who quickly became a fan favorite at Galatasaray after joining on loan, has reportedly caught Arsenal’s attention. The Nigerian striker joined Galatasaray from Napoli on the final day of the transfer window and arrived in Istanbul at 03:20 AM on a private jet. Upon arrival, he was greeted by many fans, and his first words were, “I’m very happy to be here. The atmosphere is incredible. I can’t wait to get on the field.”
4 GOALS, 2 ASSISTS
Since donning the Galatasaray jersey, Osimhen has scored 2 goals in 4 matches, but his standout contribution has been in assists, registering 4 assists in as many games.
ASSIST IN THE DERBY WAS PRAISED
Osimhen also drew attention with his performance in the Fenerbahce-Galatasaray derby, starting the match in the first 11. His chest assist to Dries Mertens for the team’s second goal was one of the most beautiful moments of the derby.
25 MILLION EURO DROP
Transfermarkt updated the market values of players in the Super Lig, and Osimhen’s value dropped from 100 million euros to 75 million euros, making him the player with the biggest value decrease in the league.
PREMIER LEAGUE INTEREST
Arsenal, aiming to secure the Premier League title, is keen to add Osimhen to its squad. According to a report from Teamtalk, the 25-year-old striker fits Mikel Arteta’s system, and the club is preparing to make a move in the January transfer window. The report also noted that Osimhen’s playing style differs from Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz, and his addition would bring a significant positive change to Arsenal’s attack.
A FIRST AFTER 7 YEARS
Osimhen, with 5 direct goal contributions in 4 matches for Galatasaray, became the first player since Bafetimbi Gomis (August 2017) to contribute 4+ goals in his first three Super Lig matches for Galatasaray.
JOINED IN ON ICARDI’S GOAL CELEBRATION
Additionally, Osimhen celebrated Mauro Icardi’s goal in the 34th minute by joining in on his teammate’s goal celebration.
