Young sensation Lamine Yamal was injured and missed Barcelona’s 1-0 loss to Real Sociedad on Sunday, which was a blow to the team.
After sustaining a “severe contusion” during Barcelona’s 5-2 Champions League triumph over Crvena Zvezda on Wednesday, the 17-year-old Yamal was unable to travel. The club acknowledged his absence and stated that his discomfort had not improved despite therapy in recent days.

In a statement on social media, Barcelona said:
“First team player Lamine Yamal sustained a severe contusion in last Wednesday’s game against Red Star Belgrade. Over the past few days, he has undergone treatment, but the discomfort has yet to subside. His recovery will determine his availability.”
