Besiktas’s Football Branch Manager Feyyaz Ucar spoke to TRT SPOR with exclusive comments.

Beşiktaş Club Football Branch Manager Feyyaz Uçar answered questions from TRT SPOR reporter Mustafa Korkusuz.

Feyyaz Uçar’s comments were as follows:

“Our coach definitely wanted Mario”
“Joao Mario was a player that Giovanni van Bronckhorst really wanted. Our transfer committee occasionally looked for players in different positions. However, our coach definitely wanted Mario. He said he could use him on both wings and, if needed, as an attacking midfielder. He had a long discussion with Hüseyin Yücel and eventually persuaded him.”

“Our love and respect are infinite”
“Şenol Güneş is a coach from our country. He has a third place with our national team. Our love and respect for him are infinite from that perspective. We wish success to our coach at Trabzonspor, and we thank him for his achievements with us. The beauty of football is that you can always face friends again. Our coach’s goal will certainly be to win. New coaches in the team change the atmosphere. The team’s competition increases, and its chemistry changes. They will go out on the field to win. From our perspective, we started the season well and formed a good team. Naturally, there could be challenging matches due to the fixture. Today will be the most difficult match we’ve played so far. Trabzonspor has always been one of the hardest away games since my time playing. Of course, it’s not a derby. We are not two teams from the same city, but we are two major teams in Turkish football. First and foremost, we hope for a good game. As Beşiktaş fans, we want to end the match with a victory.”

“Rafa Silva has put the stars on the shelf”
“Since Rafa Silva arrived, he has put Beşiktaş’s previous stars on the shelf. I’ve seen very few players who use football intelligence and can do what they think at that moment as well as he does.”

“A fun and stressful transfer period”
“No one has experienced such a fun and stressful transfer period. We couldn’t say goodbye to some of our brothers due to their extreme love for Beşiktaş and Istanbul. Of course, this is entirely related to performance. We will continue with players who perform well. We want to progress with solid steps. As President Hüseyin mentioned, we also have a dream. Hasan Arat, Hüseyin Yücel, and Kaan Şakul, and I have tried to assist them from time to time. They indeed faced many challenges. They achieved a difficult task. I thank them very much on my behalf. This job could not have been accomplished otherwise. It required determination. The support of the community was needed, and our community provided the necessary support. We are starting to see the fruits of this success gradually. We are watching a better Beşiktaş that excites the stands. We are happy to have regained our excitement.”
