Beşiktaş President Hasan Arat’s Remarks on Transfers and Departing Players
Beşiktaş President Hasan Arat stated that their transfer activities are ongoing. Arat said, “As a matter of principle, we do not disclose names. If our negotiations have reached a certain stage, we should announce it. We will have an advantage in the work to be done until September 15.” Regarding players leaving the team, Arat mentioned, “The situation with the players leaving primarily concerns foreign players. Beşiktaş has parted ways with 22 players so far, but it’s not over yet. We are still facing challenges.”
Hasan Arat answered questions during the signing ceremony of a new sponsorship deal for the black-and-white club.
“Kara Duvar Project and Tüpraş Stadium Sound Barrier”
Regarding the Kara Duvar Project and the planned sound barrier for Tüpraş Stadium, Arat said, “The Kara Duvar Project has passed the ministry, but we are waiting for approval from the Ministry of Interior. We are ready. Our work continues within the legal framework. The next decision is up to our state. We respect our state’s decision. Our fans are demanding this. If permission is granted, our community will be very happy. This project is ongoing. Technical studies on the sound barrier are continuing. We are conducting serious work on safety, fire, and ventilation. We will not proceed without ensuring these are guaranteed. The tests conducted so far have shown positive results, but small issues can cause problems. We are being very cautious in this regard. We have resolved the technical issues, and after securing the necessary guarantees, we will move forward. We are waiting for approval from public institutions.”
“We Recognize the Value of the Trophies”
Regarding sponsorships, Arat stated, “Beşiktaş’s sponsorship work is going well. Our partners trust us. We are trying to diversify these. Our digital application will be launched soon. As the new management, we recognize the value of the trophies we have won. This gives us hope. There has been a significant increase in jersey sales, with double-digit growth. We can say that Beşiktaş is calm, steady, but on the right path.”
“We Trust Our Team”
Commenting on Beşiktaş’s upcoming match against Lugano in the Europa League, Arat said, “We will play our first match in Europe. Firsts are always difficult, but we trust our team. It will be a two-legged tie. We have a calm and experienced team. As a community, we will work to build on previous successes.”
Regarding the players who will leave and transfers, Arat said, “The issue of departing players is not just a problem for Beşiktaş but for many clubs in Turkey. There are too many contracted players. We are trying to manage this with great care. Look at the timing of Amir’s move to Rize and Ndour’s arrival. We are proceeding very cautiously. We are involved in tough negotiations. They don’t want to leave. Beşiktaş is burdened with heavy contracts. We don’t want to burden our fans with this. Fans come to the match to be happy. Our top priority is the happiness of Beşiktaş’s children. This week, I saw that the children were happy both in the stadium and during the Super Cup match. Now they talk about Immobile, Rafa, Semih, and Paulista. Beşiktaş has created its own stars. Therefore, we have formed a hybrid team with our coach. Hopefully, we will have a long and tough season ahead. We need to remain calm during this long marathon. It needs to be sustainable. The final stage of the transfer is close. The Beşiktaş community should be at peace. We are aware of our shortcomings. There is a deep squad. Under our coach’s leadership, we will make Beşiktaş’s children happy.”
Regarding the basketball restructuring, Arat added, “Our women’s team will compete in the EuroLeague. Last year, we suffered a disappointing loss in the final. I would have loved to win the trophy. We had plans to enter the EuroLeague, but the decisions made by the EuroLeague made it impossible. First, we need to fix football. We haven’t given up on this. This season, Beşiktaş will experience the EuroLeague brand with the women’s team.”
“Beşiktaş Has Parted Ways with 22 Players”
Regarding transfers, Arat also said, “The transfer limit is very tight. It’s like a chess game. Our hands are full. When we make a move to sell, the transfer happens immediately. There’s no question about Demir Ege and Tayyip Talha. Our coach is very pleased with Demir Ege. The same goes for Tayyip Talha. The situation with departing players primarily concerns foreign players. Beşiktaş has parted ways with 22 players, but it’s not over yet. We are still facing challenges. These challenges do not affect our team’s performance. Ndour’s transfer is significant, but we didn’t finalize it in the last week; we’ve been working on it for six months. We had finalized the deals while I was in Paris for the Olympics. Beşiktaş didn’t pay any fee to PSG.”
Arat concluded his remarks by saying, “As a matter of principle, we do not disclose names. If our negotiations have reached a certain stage, we should announce it. We will have an advantage in the work to be done until September 15. The transfer window will close at the end of August in Europe, and we believe significant opportunities will arise. We are not planning any major moves. Our needs are clear. We had a plan for three players. I want you to know that it is progressing under our coach’s supervision. We want to make the most of the last 15 days. We have many matches before September 15. We need to focus on the Lugano series and the upcoming Sivasspor match. We will proceed cautiously. It’s a long marathon. I thank PSG; they have shown their friendship here.”
