Besiktas Warns Giovanni van Bronckhorst: Beware of Long Shots

Dutch coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst has pointed out that Kasımpasa ranks among the league’s best teams in generating scoring opportunities from balls won up front and is in the top five for shots per match. He emphasized the need to fight without taking risks and sticking to their system.

Van Bronckhorst stated that after losing the derby to Galatasaray, Besiktas must win their upcoming match against Kasımpaşa to reduce the point gap during the week when Galatasaray has a bye. In a meeting with his players, he made the following warnings:

“Kasımpasa plays an open style of football. They presented a very different image in their matches against Alanyaspor and Samsunspor. They are very effective in big matches. They constantly press the flanks and midfield to suffocate their opponents. Therefore, we need to fight against them without taking risks and without compromising our system.”

WE MUST MAKE THEM FORGET GALATASARAY

Van Bronckhorst noted that Kasımpaşa is one of the best teams in the league at scoring from balls won up front and ranks in the top five for shots per match (10.3). He added, “They can easily transition from a 4-3-3 to a 4-2-3-1 during the game. Their most important characteristic is frequently testing the goal from outside the penalty area. We must not give them the opportunity to play with the ball. We need to maintain our consistent performance and make our community forget the 2-1 defeat we suffered against Galatasaray.”
