BREAKING: EuroLeague Announces Penalties for Tarik Biberovic and Elijah Bryant
The aftermath of the tension during the Istanbul Derby has been revealed.
In the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, Fenerbahce Beko secured a victory against Anadolu Efes, but an altercation between Elijah Bryant and Tarık Biberovic occurred during the third quarter of the match. Following the incident, both players were ejected.
After the altercation, both players issued statements regarding the incident. EuroLeague has now officially announced the penalties for both athletes.
According to the EuroLeague’s statement, Fenerbahce Beko’s Tarık Biberovic has been handed a one-game suspension along with a €5,000 fine.
Meanwhile, Anadolu Efes’ Elijah Bryant has also received a one-game suspension but with a heavier fine of €10,000.
As a result, both players will miss the first game of the upcoming double-round week. Tarık Biberovic will be absent for Fenerbahce Beko’s game against Crvena Zvezda, while Elijah Bryant will miss Anadolu Efes’ matchup against Maccabi Tel Aviv.
