Bülent Uygun’s Statement on Emre Mor: “I Would Be Happy If He Joins…”

Sivasspor head coach Bülent Uygun answered reporters’ questions before training.
Sivasspor continues preparations for their 5th-week match in the Trendyol Süper Lig against Gaziantep FK, which will take place on Saturday, September 14.
Bülent Uygun said, “We congratulate and celebrate our national team for their victory in the last match. Hopefully, the Turkish national team will continue on the path to achieving their goals in the best way possible. We often comment on the many issues in Turkish football. The condition of our fields is evident. Along with that, there are general shortcomings. I believe everyone is trying to make the most of this international break to address these issues. During this period, we managed to prepare four out of five players who joined us very late, about three months later. We will play a very important and strong team like Gaziantep FK at home. The fans, who are the 12th man, need to be the driving force. It’s a tough match, and with their support, we need to win at home, both to make them happy and to fill in the gaps in our rebuilding process. We know that they are a good team. They have a strong squad, so a tough match awaits us. But hopefully, with God’s will, we will be the winning side.”

“I really like Emre Mor”
When asked about Fenerbahçe’s Emre Mor, who has been linked with several clubs during the transfer window, Uygun replied, “I’ve already told the management about certain names. They’ve been working on this for some time now. Among these are 4-5 players currently playing in the Turkish league, including players from big clubs. I wouldn’t be wrong if I said I was the one who first discovered Emre Mor. I was the first to mention him to my coach Fatih Terim. I liked him a lot when I saw him play. He’s very talented and has gone through very difficult life conditions. If it happens, I would be happy. We need to sign a fast right winger and two Turkish players. We need to create an alternative squad. We don’t have many alternatives in midfield. We played a friendly match against Sivas Dört Eylül FK, a team that was in the BAL league as of yesterday. Even in that match, the young players couldn’t win. They need to play more, so we must increase our Turkish alternatives. Expanding our squad will create competition. The league is a long marathon. There are injuries and psychological challenges, so we are trying to build a broader squad.”

Preparations for the Gaziantep match continue
At the Vali Lütfullah Bilgin Sivasspor Facilities, under the direction of coach Bülent Uygun, the training session lasted for 1 hour and 30 minutes. The session began with running and continued with warm-up exercises. The team then worked on acceleration and passing drills, and in the final part of the session, they focused on tactical preparations for the Gaziantep match. Sivasspor will continue their preparations for the Gaziantep match with tomorrow’s training session.
