Celtic Come From Behind to Beat Falkirk 5-2 and Reach League Cup Semi-Finals
Celtic overcame a spirited challenge from Championship side Falkirk to secure a 5-2 victory and advance to the League Cup semi-finals. Despite their midweek Champions League success, Celtic found themselves trailing twice in the match before a strong second-half comeback.
Falkirk, who were unbeaten in 43 league games, took a shock lead through Ross MacIver, whose impressive strike beat Kasper Schmeichel. Celtic responded quickly with Paulo Bernardo volleying in to level the score. However, Falkirk regained the lead before half-time when Finn Yeats headed home.
In the second half, Celtic turned the tide with Adam Idah scoring twice in quick succession to give the Hoops the lead for the first time. Nicolas Kuhn then added a double of his own to seal the victory and secure Celtic’s place in the semi-finals.
Celtic will face Aberdeen in the semi-finals on the weekend of November 2/3, while Rangers will take on Motherwell in the other semi-final clash.
