Chelsea Make Stance on Mykhailo Mudryk’s Future Clear

Despite reports of a possible departure, Chelsea apparently have opted not to split ways with Mykhailo Mudryk during the forthcoming January transfer window. Having joined Chelsea from Shakhtar Donetsk in an early 2023 contract valued at £88.5 million (€105m/$109m), the Ukraine international has struggled to have an impression at Stamford Bridge.

Journalist Ben Jacobs claims that Chelsea has no intentions to let the 23-year-old leave in any manner this January, despite being connected with a move to Marseille. Said to be pushing Mudryk to grow, head coach Enzo Maresca still regards him as a vital member of the team.

With just seven goals and seven assists in 66 games for the team, Mudryk’s long-term future calls questions. Chelsea might have a depreciating asset if his performance doesn’t improve as their deal runs until 2031 and they might find it tough selling him.

Over all of this season, Mudryk has made eight appearances; five of these have been starts. He has only one Premier League start this season, hence he has been mostly used in cup competitions.
