Dante Exum Suffers Wrist Injury, Surgery a Possibility

Sources have reported to The Athletic that Dallas Mavericks guard Dante Exum suffered a right wrist injury possibly requiring surgery.

The Mavericks are weighing many therapy choices for Exum right now, but surgery might be required. Exum returned to the NBA last season following two years of play for FC Barcelona and Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade, revitalizing his career abroad but has only been a bench player since returning Dallas.

Exum’s Services to the Mavericks

Exum provided depth in the Mavericks’ guard rotation by averaging 7.8 points, 2.9 assists, and 2.7 rebounds across 55 games in the 2023–24 NBA season. If surgery becomes required, Exum may miss a good portion of the season, which would drastically affect the backcourt choices for the Mavericks.
