Alienware Launches Alienware Pro Headset Co-Developed with Team Liquid for Esports Players
Gaming hardware brand Alienware, part of Dell, has announced the launch of its new Alienware Pro Headset, developed in collaboration with esports organization Team Liquid and other professional gamers. The headset aims to deliver competitive-level audio and comfort features while doubling as a device suitable for everyday use.
Following the release of their Pro mouse and keyboard earlier this year, Alienware’s Pro Headset completes the Pro lineup, targeting the high-end esports market. The headset will be available in North America starting in October, boasting features that place it in direct competition with Razer’s Blackshark and Logitech’s G PRO headsets. However, Alienware’s headset stands out for its inclusion of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), a feature not found in its competitors.
High-End Audio Features Designed for Competitive Play
The Alienware Pro Headset is packed with high-performance features tailored for competitive gaming, including:
- Hybrid ANC: Enhances focus by blocking out ambient noise.
- Two-Microphone ANC: Provides clarity in voice communication by reducing external noise.
- Memory Foam Earcups: For added comfort during long gaming sessions.
- 50mm Drivers with Graphene Coating: Designed for superior audio performance compared to materials like titanium or plastic, supporting Dolby Atmos for immersive sound.
Instead of focusing heavily on spatial audio or surround sound emulation, Alienware’s approach centers on accurately reproducing in-game sounds to offer a competitive edge.
Long Battery Life and Versatility
The headset boasts a battery life of up to 35 hours when connected via a 2.4GHz connection with ANC activated and over 75 hours when connected via Bluetooth with ANC turned off, making it suitable for extended gaming sessions or everyday use.
Co-Developed with Esports Pros for Optimal Performance
The Alienware Pro Headset was created following 18 months of research, focus groups, and interviews with professional players and streamers, including Alienware’s long-term partner Team Liquid. This collaboration aimed to design a headset that meets the demands of competitive gamers while also providing versatility for casual use.
Alienware’s Push into the High-End Esports Market
With the release of the Pro Headset, Alienware is signaling its intent to expand further into the high-end esports peripherals market. As the market becomes increasingly saturated in 2024, Alienware is looking to carve out its niche with products that combine premium build quality, high-end audio performance, and features aimed at pro-level gamers.
