Bagnaia Leads Ducati Top 3 in Misano Test, Acosta Impresses on KTM

Following Sunday’s race, the MotoGP teams stayed at Misano for an official in-season test where several manufacturers tested updates for both the remainder of the 2024 season and upcoming developments for 2025.

Current MotoGP champion Francesco Bagnaia led the pace in Monday’s post-race Misano MotoGP test, spearheading a Ducati 1-2-3 result. Bagnaia topped the charts with a 1:30.619 lap time, just three-tenths off his Misano Grand Prix pole time. Pramac Ducati rider Franco Morbidelli followed closely with a 1:30.780, while Enea Bastianini secured third.

The test session started slowly due to overnight rain, but conditions improved by the third hour. KTM test rider Dani Pedrosa and Tech3’s Pedro Acosta were the first to post times. Acosta set an early benchmark of 1:31.369, before Bagnaia’s dominance. Acosta, riding for KTM/GasGas, ended up as the best non-Ducati rider, finishing fourth.

Yamaha also tested several bikes, with Fabio Quartararo posting the fifth-best time of 1:31.063 on the M1 prototype. Other notable mentions include championship leader Jorge Martin in sixth and Marc Marquez, who was seventh for Gresini.

The test also saw the debut of new aero parts on Ducati bikes, and it was reported that their 2025 GP25 model is in advanced stages of development.
