Beşiktaş suffered a heavy defeat in the first week of the UEFA Europa League, losing away to Ajax and recording their first loss of the season.

In the opening week of the UEFA Europa League, Beşiktaş traveled to the Netherlands to face Ajax. The match, held at Johan Cruijff Arena, ended in a 4-0 defeat for Beşiktaş, marking the team’s first loss in official matches this season.

Ajax secured the win with goals from Kian Fitz-Jim, Mika Godts (2), and Kenneth Taylor. Beşiktaş finished the match without a single shot on target, while their goalkeeper Mert Günok, despite conceding four goals, made five crucial saves to prevent the scoreline from getting worse.

With this result, Beşiktaş started their UEFA Europa League campaign with a defeat. In the second week of the competition, Beşiktaş will host Eintracht Frankfurt at home on Thursday, October 3rd.

FIRST GOAL CAME FROM FITZ-JIM

The match began evenly, but it was Ajax who opened the scoring. Kenneth Taylor delivered a low cross from the left side of the penalty box, and after a scramble in front of the goal, Kian Fitz-Jim found the ball at the back post and tapped it into the empty net.

AJAX DOUBLED THE LEAD EARLY IN THE SECOND HALF

Ajax started the second half with intensity and quickly added a second goal. In a swift counter-attack, Bertrand Traore played a through ball from the right wing to Mika Godts, who slotted the ball into the net with a calm finish after going one-on-one with the goalkeeper.

BACK-TO-BACK GOALS

Just four minutes after the second goal, Ajax made it 3-0 with Kenneth Taylor’s strike. Brian Brobbey, with his back to goal inside the box, laid off a pass to Taylor, who struck the ball low from the edge of the box and found the back of the net.

GODTS SCORES AGAIN

With Beşiktaş taking more risks after falling behind, Ajax capitalized with a fourth goal. Christian Rasmussen crossed the ball into the box from the right, and although Mert Günok managed to parry it, Mika Godts was there at the back post to tap the ball in for his second goal and Ajax’s fourth.

In the remaining minutes, Ajax slowed the tempo with short passing and comfortably saw out the match with a 4-0 victory.
