Big shock to Real Madrid legend Marcelo: The door was thrown out
Brazilian legendary player Marcelo was left without a club after the argument he had with his coach. In the last minutes of the match against Fluminense, Gremio, which ended in a 2-2 draw, Marcelo had an argument with coach Mano Menezes. After this discussion, while the contract of the Real Madrid legend was terminated, the door was almost thrown out.
Marcelo, who won the Champions League five times with Madrid, was going to enter the game at the end of the second half of the Brazilian Serie A fixture. However, while the coach Menezes seemed to be giving him instructions, the Brazilian seemed disinterested, at one point he looked away from the coach. He then said something incomprehensible for the viewers, and Menezes openly objected to it. The coach soon began to push Marcelo towards the bench and asked for another player to be prepared instead. Fluminense later announced that Marcelo’s contract was terminated.WHAT DID MENEZES SAY?
“I was going to get Marcelo into the game at that point, but I heard something I didn’t like and changed my mind,” Menezes explained after the match: “I put [John Kennedy] in Canada, he’s a strong player, so you have a way out. We’ve always had a way out. I don’t think the reason why the team had any problems was because they entered that game. It’s not easy to get into the game at that point of the match, you know that, it’s an end-of-match moment. He wasn’t coming to solve any problems, he was coming to protect what we had. And there were two or three minutes left in the match anyway, needless to say that.”
Fluminense is currently ranked 12th after 32 games in Serie A and will have the lowest ratings since 2019 if they maintain this position. However, they have a talented squad with names such as Filipe Melo and former Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan and Chelsea defender Thiago Silva.
For Marcelo, the focus is now on finding a new club. At the age of 36, he will want to find a new team in the last years of his career and in order not to fall into the match form.
