Bruno Fernandes Reveals Why Alejandro Garnacho Didn’t Celebrate His Goal
Alejandro Garnacho’s quiet celebration following his goal in Manchester United’s 3-0 victory over Leicester City was explained by Bruno Fernandes.
In Ruud van Nistelrooy’s final game as interim manager, Garnacho completed a strong performance by securing the victory with a beautiful curling shot from just outside the area. Fans were perplexed by Garnacho’s strangely subdued response, as he merely went back for the restart despite the goal’s genius.
Fernandes’ Explanation
Fernandes, who scored United’s opening goal, explained the situation to BBC Sport:
“Garnacho scored a banger but didn’t celebrate like he should because he thinks he has lost faith from some fans. I told him people will always moan, but lots of people like you and enjoy what you do. I told him to celebrate; it was something special. He is a special player, and we have difference-makers. They are the ones who win us games. We want them to score every game, but that isn’t going to happen.”
