Edin Dzeko Defies Age with Spectacular Start to the Season for Fenerbahçe

Edin Dzeko Defies Age with Stellar Performances for Fenerbahçe

At 38 years old, Edin Dzeko continues to prove that age is just a number with his outstanding fitness and performance for Fenerbahçe this season. The Bosnian forward has featured in all 8 official matches, playing over 70 minutes in each, and he also completed 90 minutes for Bosnia and Herzegovina in their matches against the Netherlands and Hungary.

When Dzeko, then 37, signed with Fenerbahçe last season, many doubted his ability to perform at his best. However, he silenced critics by playing 46 official matches, scoring 25 goals, and providing 10 assists. Despite turning 38 at the start of this season, expectations of him becoming a reserve striker grew, especially after the €19.5 million signing of En-Nesyri.

Yet, Dzeko has shattered these expectations. Jose Mourinho has trusted him as a starter in all 8 official matches, where Dzeko has played at least 70 minutes in each. His tally of 8 goals and 2 assists at the start of the season has reaffirmed his status as a key player for the team.
