Erik ten Hag Confident in Manchester United’s Trophy Prospects Despite City’s Dominance

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to win more trophies, asserting that only Manchester City have won more than his side in the past two years. Speaking ahead of Sunday’s highly anticipated Premier League clash against Liverpool at Old Trafford, Ten Hag highlighted that since he took charge in 2022, only City have outpaced United in terms of silverware.

Under Ten Hag’s leadership, United ended a six-year trophy drought by defeating Newcastle to win the Carabao Cup in 2023, followed by a surprise FA Cup victory over Manchester City at Wembley in May.

Reflecting on these achievements, Ten Hag said, “In the last two years, we won, behind City, the most trophies in English football. That is the reality. Those are the facts. This year, we want to win. We want to win trophies. I am quite confident we will do that.”

Sir Alex Ferguson remains the only Manchester United manager to have won trophies in three successive seasons.
