FIA Extends DRS Zone in Baku

For the second consecutive race, the FIA has extended the DRS zone in an effort to facilitate overtaking.

Following Monza, the FIA has increased the DRS zone by 100 meters in Baku to make overtaking easier. Drivers will now be able to activate DRS 347 meters after the last corner. Last year, DRS zones were shortened on some tracks, and drivers complained that overtaking had become more difficult. Taking this into account, the FIA has extended the DRS zone in Baku and other circuits once again.

Meanwhile, no major changes have been made to the Baku track this year, but some barriers have been repositioned or replaced with new ones.

Additionally, new asphalt has been laid between the pit exit, turns 2 and 3, as well as between turns 7 and 8.

These solutions aim to reduce the difficulty of turns 7 and 8, known as some of the narrowest sections in the F1 calendar.
