Former Besiktas Star Andreas Beck Reveals Keys to Frankfurt Match

Former Besiktas player Andreas Beck praised the development of the team under coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst and highlighted the importance of home advantage and a strong attacking lineup as key factors for victory against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Beck, who played for Besiktas from 2015 to 2018, winning two Super Lig titles, spoke to the Ihlas News Agency about the upcoming UEFA Europa League match.

“TOUGH MATCH FOR BESIKTAS”

Beck started by mentioning the challenge ahead for Besiktas: “Frankfurt has been performing well this season. They are currently second in the Bundesliga and have considerable international and Europa League experience. This will be a great test for Besiktas. However, playing at home gives them an advantage. We’ve also seen how competitive Besiktas has become under van Bronckhorst. They just need to recover from the defeat in Amsterdam against Ajax.”

“SET PIECES MAY DECIDE THE GAME”

Beck emphasized that Besiktas needs to defend strongly against the German side: “I think it will be a hard-fought match. Besiktas will need to defend well against a German team. They must use the home advantage and be strong and dominant with the fans behind them. Their biggest strength is this. They also need to be mentally resilient. Set pieces might play a key role against a good German team, so I’m curious to see how they will approach the game.”

“IMPRESSIVE DEVELOPMENT WITH BRONCKHORST”

Beck noted the significant improvement under Giovanni van Bronckhorst, saying: “The stats and the number of goals speak for themselves. With players like Immobile and Rafa Silva, Besiktas has a strong attacking lineup. They create many chances and have a great desire to score, which reflects van Bronckhorst’s style. Aside from the Ajax game, they’ve also conceded very few goals, which shows the strength of the team. They need to maintain this balance of good defense and controlled attacks, especially on the international stage. Overall, the development under van Bronckhorst has been impressive.”

“NEW SIGNINGS INTEGRATED QUICKLY”

Beck also praised the new international players in the squad like Immobile, Rafa Silva, Paulista, and Joao Mario: “They integrated into the team very quickly and have been performing well. I’m excited to see what Besiktas can achieve with this playing style and Giovanni van Bronckhorst.”

“OUR ERA WAS DIFFERENT”

When asked to compare the current squad with the team during his time at Besiktas, Beck said: “It’s difficult to compare. Now, there are great players, but we also had a fantastic squad. The most important thing during our era was building a great team around star players. We had a strong sense of unity and winning spirit. We helped stars like Talisca, Mario Gomez, and Quaresma. We were a good team, and I’m sure the current squad will also have a successful season. They’ve already won a cup with a 5-0 score. I hope they become champions this season.”
