Interim England manager Lee Carsley has revealed that Harry Kane will not play in the forthcoming Nations League match against Greece due to fitness concerns following his injury scare. Kane, who was injured in Bayern Munich’s 3-3 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt over the weekend, is unlikely to start the match on Wednesday.
In Kane’s absence, John Stones has been designated captain of the match against Greece. Carsley has also said that Kane may come off the bench if necessary, but he wishes to keep him available for England’s next match against Finland on Sunday. Kane scored twice against Finland in their previous meeting in September, and his presence will be critical for the side.
