Joao Neves Joins PSG, Renato Sanches Returns to Benfica in Major Transfer Moves

Joao Neves Transfers to PSG While Renato Sanches Returns to Benfica

Joao Neves is transferring to PSG for €60 million plus €10 million in bonuses. Considered one of the most promising midfielders in recent Portuguese football, Joao Neves’ transfer will facilitate Renato Sanches’ return to his former club, Benfica.

New Era at PSG: Joao Neves and Renato Sanches

Following Kylian Mbappé’s departure from PSG, the French club has moved quickly to strengthen their squad. Under the management of Luis Enrique, PSG aims to build a team capable of winning both Ligue 1 and the Champions League. In this context, the transfer of Portuguese star Joao Neves has reached its final stage.

First Transfer: Safonov

PSG signed goalkeeper Safonov from Krasnodar for €20 million. However, there have been no significant transfers in defense, midfield, or attack in recent weeks. Joao Neves’ transfer has become one of PSG’s most important moves this summer. PSG agreed to pay €60 million for Neves, with an additional €10 million in bonuses based on specific achievements.

Renato Sanches’ Return

Renato Sanches is returning to Benfica as part of the Joao Neves transfer deal. Eight years after leaving Benfica, Sanches has struggled with injuries and various disappointments across Europe. At Benfica, he aims to revive his career and stay at the top by avoiding injuries and negative coaching decisions.

Other PSG Transfer Movements

Following Mbappé and Sanches, PSG has bid farewell to several players during the summer transfer window. Ekitike left the club permanently to sign with Eintracht Frankfurt. Kurzawa and Keylor Navas also departed as free agents. While Navas was expected to transfer to Monza, the deal has been halted due to some issues.

Osimhen Transfer Expected

PSG’s next major transfer could be Victor Osimhen from Napoli. The Nigerian forward’s situation remains uncertain, but PSG’s interest continues. It seems unlikely that Osimhen will stay at Napoli. If Osimhen departs, Lukaku is expected to join PSG, although Aston Villa has also made significant efforts to sign the Belgian player.
