As the start of the new NBA season approaches, teams are beginning to hold their media days.
One of the last teams to hold a media day was last season’s finalist, the Dallas Mavericks.
Speaking with the media, Luka Doncic shared his expectations for the upcoming season.
“Our only goal is the championship,” Doncic stated. When asked if this creates additional pressure, he responded: “I love expectations, it means we’ve accomplished something. I’ve been dealing with expectations since my time at Real Madrid, so I’m used to it. This should also be extra motivation for the team. Because we’ve achieved good things, people expect more from us. That’s a good thing.”
The Dallas Mavericks were defeated 4-1 by the Boston Celtics in last season’s NBA Finals.
Doncic finished last season averaging 33.9 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 9.8 assists per game.
