‘MeeTürkItaly’ Panel Held at the Consulate General of Italy in Istanbul
The ‘MeeTürkItaly’ meeting, organized by the Italian Embassy in Turkey with support from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, took place at the Consulate General of Italy in Istanbul. The event, held at the Venezie Palace, saw a large turnout, including notable figures invited by Italian Ambassador to Turkey, Giorgio Marrapodi.
In his opening speech, Ambassador Marrapodi highlighted that the event was part of a global initiative titled “Sports and Diplomacy,” which is being held in embassies worldwide from 7-14 September. He expressed his joy over the collaboration between Italy and Turkey, two key Mediterranean nations, in jointly hosting EURO 2032.
“We are very happy that two important and friendly countries of the Mediterranean basin will organise EURO 2032 together. We have common cultural and social values, and the two countries have always been very close to each other,” Marrapodi said. He also noted the positive influence of Italian coaches leading both nations’ football and volleyball teams, further strengthening their connection.
