Belgian star Romelu Lukaku is set to reunite with his former Inter coach, Antonio Conte, at Napoli. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Napoli has submitted a new offer to bring Lukaku back to Serie A. The offer is valued at €30 million (£25 million) and includes additional payments and bonuses. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that an agreement has been reached between the two clubs, and Lukaku will sign a three-year contract. Napoli’s manager, Antonio Conte, is reportedly very keen to reunite with the Belgian forward, whom he worked with during their time at Inter.

While the new offer is an improvement over previous ones, it is said that Napoli is proposing long-term payment terms due to uncertainty surrounding Victor Osimhen’s future. The Nigerian striker has been heavily linked with a move away from the club this summer, with Chelsea and Arsenal among the interested parties, but no deal has materialized yet.

At the start of the transfer window, there were reports that Jose Mourinho was also interested in bringing Lukaku to Fenerbahçe. Lukaku has spent the last two seasons on loan in Italy, first with Inter and then with Roma, where he has an impressive goal-scoring record in Serie A. The Belgian striker scored 70 goals in 129 appearances in the Italian league.

With Chelsea’s squad already packed, the club’s head coach Enzo Maresca has made it clear that some players will not be included in the squad. As a result, Lukaku is eager to make a quick exit from the club.
