Nemanja Nedovic praised Crvena Zvezda Meridian Bet’s experience and second-half defensive efforts for their tight 80-77 EuroLeague victory over Paris, as well as Paris guard TJ Shorts’ excellent play.
Nedovic, who led Zvezda with 21 points on an effective 7/8 shooting, stressed how the team’s experience helped them stay focused under pressure. “We didn’t give up, and that comes from our experience,” he stated after the game. “We know how to handle difficult situations, and we showed that today.”
Zvezda’s ability to maintain composure was critical, especially during a vital third-quarter surge that changed the game’s momentum in their direction. Nedovic also cited their stronger defense in the second half, which hampered Paris’ offensive.
“We didn’t play well on defense in the first half, but we improved significantly in the second. We forced them out of their comfort zone.” he said.
Praise for TJ Shorts and the Away Win Boost
While Zvezda’s defensive changes limited Paris’ main players, Nedovic recognized TJ Shorts as a great EuroLeague talent: “Shorts is a legitimate EuroLeague player, and it was tough going against him.”
Reflecting on the victory, Nedovic emphasized the importance of getting an away win early in the season. “Winning our first away game boosts us confidence, but we must continue to improve. “We cannot stop now.” he concluded.
Zvezda will seek to continue this energy into their next game, which is at home against Baskonia.
