OFFICIAL: ALEX ALBON WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COMPETE IN THE BRAZILIAN GP
Williams vehicles, which had an accident due to rainy weather conditions during the Sao Paulo Grand Prix qualifying laps, suffered serious damage before the race.
As a result of the investigations, it was determined that the large damage to Albon’s car could not be repaired in a short time and Williams decided to withdraw Albon from the race.
“Unfortunately, after assessing the extensive damage to Alex Albon’s car, it became clear that the vehicle’s repair could not be completed in the short time between qualifying laps and the race,” the statement said.
“That’s why the team had to pull Alex’s car from the rest of the Grand Prix.”
In the statement made, it was stated that Franco Colapinto will be able to compete in the race that will start at 18:30.
