In August 2023, Paul Pogba was handed a four-year ban after testing positive for elevated testosterone levels in a doping test. However, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has reduced his suspension to 18 months. The French star will be eligible to return to official matches starting from March 2025.
Pogba had originally faced a four-year suspension, which would have prevented him from playing until 2027. With the reduced sentence, he now has the opportunity to resume his career earlier.
STILL UNDER CONTRACT WITH JUVENTUS
The suspension came after Pogba failed a doping test following Juventus’ match against Udinese in August 2023. The French midfielder is still under contract with the Italian club until 2026.
In a July interview, Pogba expressed his determination to return, stating, “Pogba is not dead. Pogba is here. I have a strong desire to come back. I’m as excited as young players who want to become professionals. I train every day. I’m still a Juventus player. I have a contract, but I haven’t spoken to the coach or the president yet.”
