Perez: “I actually laugh at some of the news”

Red Bull driver Sergio Perez says he laughs off rumours about his future.
Sergio Perez is on the verge of losing his Red Bull seat due to his turbulent performance in the 2024 season.

Indications are now that he could lose the seat, but the Mexican driver is confident he will stay with the team.

Responding to rumors about his future, Perez said: “The rumors are funny to me.”

“I really laugh at the fabrications of some media outlets, but not all of them, because there are professional journalists too.”

“But there is a serious lack of professionalism in the European media, which is very surprising.”

“Ultimately I focus on my work because I know that the most important thing is what I do in the car.”

Asked how much longer he will race in F1, Perez said: “That’s a difficult question. I have a contract for two more years.”

“After that it’s hard to know, it will depend on where I am but I don’t have many years ahead of me for reasons related to my children.”

“After all, the 24-race F1 calendar demands 100 percent of your time, leaving you with very little free time to build a life with your family,” he replied.
