Petit Doubts Arsenal Will Gamble on Pogba After Doping Ban

After Paul Pogba’s doping ban expires in 2025, former Arsenal defender Emmanuel Petit has questioned if the club will be able to sign him. After his original four-year punishment was lowered to 18 months, the French midfielder, who is now scheduled to leave Juventus, will be eligible to return to top football in March 2025.

Given that Pogba might return to the Premier League, Petit underlined how crucial it is that the 31-year-old pick his next team carefully. Petit said:

“It’s probably the most important decision of his career.” adding that Pogba’s recent setbacks would undoubtedly affect the terms of any deal that was extended to him.

Petit expressed skepticism over Arsenal’s willingness to take a gamble on Pogba, citing past struggles with high-profile signings. “I’m not sure big clubs like Arsenal have the guts to sign a player like Pogba.” Petit said, pointing out that such a move might not align with the club’s current philosophy or direction following Edu’s departure.
