Ralf: “Fallows can’t solve problems”

Dan Fallows lost his job at Aston Martin because he “couldn’t solve problems”, according to Ralf Schumacher. After a long spell at Red Bull, Dan Fallows accepted an offer from Aston Martin and signed for the British team in 2022.

Aston Martin made a fast start to the 2023 season but fell behind in the championship after a series of missteps in car development.

As a result, Fallows will step down as head coach this month and another name will soon be appointed to the role.

“Dan had a huge influence on the 2023 car and at the start of the season it looked like a rocket,” former F1 driver Schumacher told formel1.de.

“But the difference between Adrian Newey and the others is his ability to solve problems. Newey seems to be incredible at that, Fallows hasn’t been successful.”

“Fallows left Red Bull to take on this important position but he didn’t fit in very well at Aston Martin. I guess the two sides were not on very good terms.”

“Now Adrian is coming to the team too.”

Schumacher believes Newey, who worked with Fallows for many years at Red Bull, may have been influential in the decision.

“Personally I don’t know what happened. I will ask Adrian about it the next time I see him,” the German said.
