Real Madrid Enter Race for Joshua Kimmich Amid Bayern Munich Contract Stalemate

Real Madrid have reportedly joined Barcelona in the race to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich, whose contract situation at the German club has hit an impasse. With Kimmich’s current deal set to expire at the end of the season, Bayern Munich face the growing risk of losing one of their most crucial players.

Bayern Munich have made Kimmich’s renewal a priority, but negotiations have stalled. The club is keen to lower its wage bill ahead of the next season under the directive of sporting director Max Eberl. Bayern have requested salary adjustments from high earners, including Leroy Sane and Kimmich, with the latter currently earning €20 million gross annually.

Despite Bayern’s recognition of Kimmich as an integral part of their present and future, the impasse could allow him to leave on a free transfer next summer. In just six weeks, Kimmich would be eligible to enter pre-contract negotiations with other clubs.
