Decision on Alex Ferguson at Manchester United
Manchester United has ended the club ambassador role of legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson as part of a cost-cutting program. Ferguson will leave his position at the end of the season.
Under the management of Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who took over football operations after acquiring a stake in the club last year, INEOS continues to implement new measures to reduce expenses.
According to a report by Athletic, INEOS has terminated Ferguson’s ambassador contract and it has been noted that he will step down at the end of the season. The decision was made because Jim Ratcliffe discussed with Ferguson and no longer wanted to continue payments.
Alex Ferguson’s Career
Starting his managerial career at East Stirlingshire, and later managing St. Mirren, Aberdeen, and the Scotland national team, Alex Ferguson signed with Manchester United in 1986.
Ferguson managed 1,490 matches at Manchester United over 27 years, achieving numerous accolades and making history.
He is the most successful manager in Premier League history, winning 13 titles, as well as the Champions League (2), FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup, FA Cup (5), League Cup (4), and Community Shield (10).
