Dominant Performance from Besiktas: Benfica Defeated by 35 Points in EuroCup Women

In the second week of the FIBA EuroCup Women’s Group K, Besiktas Women’s Basketball Team defeated the Portuguese side Benfica 90-55 with a commanding 35-point victory at home.

Starting strong at Besiktas Fibabanka Sports Complex, the black-and-white team took control early, closing the first quarter with a 20-11 lead. The home team extended the gap in the second quarter, heading into halftime with a 50-25 advantage.

Besiktas maintained their dominance in the second half, finishing the third quarter 75-47 and ultimately securing a comfortable 90-55 win.

Evans, with 23 points, led all scorers for Besiktas. Elif Bayram added 17 points, while Hillsman and Melek Uzunoğlu each contributed 14 points. Other key performers included Winterburn with 7 points, Fagbenle with 6 points, Lazic with 5 points, and Gizem Turan and Esra Güvenç, who both chipped in with 2 points each.

With this result, Besiktas improved to 2-0 in the group, while Benfica suffered their first loss.
