Dursun Özbek Responds to Black Market Ticket Allegations Amid Crisis at Galatasaray

Galatasaray has recently been rocked by a black market ticket crisis, with allegations surfacing that certain members of the club’s board of directors were selling match tickets at inflated prices. The accusations claim that tickets were shown as sold out on the official website, only to be resold on the black market for exorbitant amounts.

According to these rumors, approximately 10,000 tickets—excluding season tickets—were marked as sold out through a special application when they went on sale. It is alleged that these tickets were then resold to fans on the black market for as much as 5,000 euros each, generating an estimated 56 million euros in revenue annually. Furthermore, claims suggest that fan groups were involved in facilitating these sales.

In response, Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek dismissed the black market allegations as an attempt to derail the club’s Florya project. Özbek stated:

“The black market slander is just a setup to stop the Florya project.”

He added that the club had taken immediate action, saying:

“We invited anyone with information or evidence to come forward. An independent audit firm has begun investigating irregularities, and we have requested an investigation from the CMB. Our supervisory board has also launched a probe, and I personally filed a criminal complaint with the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.”
