“Emile Smith Rowe Joins Fulham in Record £34 Million Transfer from Arsenal”

Emile Smith Rowe has transferred from Arsenal to Fulham for a fee that could reach £34 million with add-ons.

This is a record transfer fee for Fulham.

It is Arsenal’s biggest sale since Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s £35 million move to Liverpool in 2017.

Smith Rowe, who came through Arsenal’s academy, has struggled for game time in the past two seasons. He hopes this move will revive his England career. The attacking midfielder earned three caps between late 2021 and early 2022.

Fulham, after a failed £30 million bid, secured a deal that surpasses their previous record £27 million paid for Ivory Coast midfielder Jean Michaël Seri in 2018. This fee is the highest Arsenal has received for a homegrown player.

Smith Rowe told Fulham’s website: “I’m really excited. I wanted to get here as quickly as possible to start working with my teammates. Listening to the project, speaking with the manager [Marco Silva], and seeing the players already here, it’s an exciting project for me and definitely the perfect step forward in my career.”
