England Hit with Another Injury Blow as Branthwaite Becomes Ninth Player to Withdraw
In addition to making preparations for their forthcoming Nations League games against Greece and the Republic of Ireland more difficult, Jarrad Branthwaite has become the eighth player to withdraw from the England team for the November camp.
Captain Harry Kane, who recently voiced his annoyance at his colleagues’ failure to make themselves available for national service under Lee Carsley, is unlikely to be pleased with the Everton defender’s withdrawal. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Cole Palmer, and Bukayo Saka have all chosen to stay with their clubs in order to concentrate on their health, and Branthwaite is the latest to join their ranks.
Jarell Quansah of Liverpool, who has been working with the Three Lions this week, is expected to take Branthwaite’s position in the squad due to his absence.
