Erdal Kirtas Announces Candidacy for Presidency at Altay

Erdal Kirtas has declared his candidacy for the presidency of Altay, a club competing in the TFF 2nd League and currently facing financial difficulties.

Altay has struggled to overcome its financial issues in the TFF 2nd League, while continuing its contacts with various firms from Istanbul, Gaziantep, and abroad for a corporate structure that did not materialize at the beginning of the season. Kirtas, who lost the presidential race to Suleyman Ozkaral in the last election held on March 30, announced that he would run for the management if a congress is organized. The former vice president, who failed to establish a multi-partner corporate structure for the club at the beginning of the season, made his presidential aspirations known on social media.

Erdal Kirtas stated, “Altay Sports Club, with its 110-year history, is one of the richest treasures of Turkish sports life and history. I am a candidate for the presidency of the Great Altay Sports Club, in line with its founding philosophy.”

Despite his intentions to run for management, there is currently no extraordinary general assembly decision taken by the black-and-white club. The institutions Kirtas has contacted for corporate efforts and his projects are also subjects of curiosity. A comprehensive announcement from Kirtas regarding his candidacy is expected in the coming days.
