Turkish Head Coach Ergin Ataman Signs 3-Year Extension with Panathinaikos

Turkish head coach Ergin Ataman has signed a new three-year contract with Panathinaikos, following his EuroLeague and Greek League victories with the team.

In an official statement, Panathinaikos announced, “We will create new memories together for another 3 years.”

Club President’s Statement

Club president Dimitris Giannakopoulos expressed his excitement on social media, stating, “I am thrilled to announce that Europe’s best coach, Ergin Ataman, has agreed to be the head coach of Panathinaikos for the next 3 years!”

Ergin Ataman’s Career Achievements

Ataman, who has previously coached teams like Türk Telekom, Pınar Karşıyaka, Efes Pilsen, and Anadolu Efes, led Anadolu Efes to EuroLeague titles in 2021 and 2022. The 58-year-old coach became the first Turkish basketball coach to win the tournament and was named EuroLeague Coach of the Year in 2021.
