Trabzonspor Club President Ertugrul Dogan announced that they require 30 million euros by the end of December to secure a license, highlighting that they have been performing well financially.
Trabzonspor Club President Ertugrul Dogan met with reporters at the Senol Gunes Sports Complex. Alongside General Manager Sinan Zengin, he held a press conference to present information about the club’s financial structure and the process of exiting the banks’ union.
During the meeting, he announced that the club’s net debt as of October 19, 2024, is 3.15 billion TL (84 million euros). Dogan noted that the financial situation for Trabzonspor is starting to improve, stating, “I can say that I feel embarrassed towards the community when looking at the pitch. We have undertaken significant economic work, and important milestones have been reached. The situation is turning positive. All our plans are ready. In the coming days, we will share with you the areas we are targeting regarding land. We will satisfy our fans and investors.”
Addressing concerns about player quality, Dogan said, “This is something Senol also mentions. We believe that Seol Gunes will be the one to pull us out of this situation, which is why he took the role. We have put in a lot of effort, but we haven’t seen the results on the pitch so far. Our previous coach was not satisfied, and neither is our new coach. I believe we will escape this situation soon.”
When asked if he would run again in the upcoming December congress, Dogan replied, “We have approached the economic goals we mentioned. If there hadn’t been fluctuations in interest rates and foreign exchange, we could have been in a different position. I have never left any job unfinished.” He expressed confidence in overcoming their challenges with Trabzon’s strength, adding, “These are not just problems for our board to solve. We haven’t received support from valuable businessmen. Perhaps the fault lies with us; I don’t know. Support is for Trabzonspor, not for me. We have faced significant difficulties. I don’t want the next president to experience these struggles. We face serious amounts every month. Have we lost hope? No. We will continue to fight. Everyone needs to support Trabzonspor.”
Regarding the club’s goals, Dogan said, “Our situation this season is not finished. I believe in Senol Hocam. He is very ambitious. I wouldn’t be lying if I said I haven’t been mistaken seeing his ambition. We will meet the requests of the management and technical staff in terms of transfers. It is my responsibility to fulfill that.”
