Ahmed Kutucu: ‘Arda has Contributed a Lot to Us’

Ahmed Kutucu, who has found a place in the squad of the Turkish National Team for the matches against Montenegro and Iceland, expressed his happiness at being selected for the national team.

The Turkish National Team will face Montenegro on October 11 in Samsun and Iceland away on October 14 in Group B of the UEFA Nations League. Ahmed Kutucu, one of the attacking players, stated that they want to maintain their group leadership.

Speaking to reporters at the TFF Hasan Doğan National Teams Camp and Training Facilities, Ahmed Kutucu said, “I am very happy to be here again after four years. It’s always a special feeling to be here. I thank Coach Montella and the entire team for this. Hopefully, it will be a good camp, and we will finish with two victories. Every match is tough; I hope we finish these matches with two wins. We want to continue leading in our group. There will be tough matches; we have never won in Iceland, so hopefully, we can achieve our first victory there.”

‘ARDA HAS CONTRIBUTED A LOT TO US’

In response to the question, “How do you evaluate Eyupsport’s and your own performance? What did you discuss with Coach Arda after being called up to the national team?” Ahmed said:

“We became champions last season. Coach Arda has contributed a lot to us. He helps me develop as a player every day. I thank him very much. We are a good team, and we want to be even better. Hopefully, we will have a good season. We were all very happy when we were called up to the squad. The coaches were also very happy. They trust me, and I will try to give my best here. Coach Arda has an important career and is improving every day. He is a very good coach. He tries to help me, and I don’t want to disappoint him.”

Ahmed Kutucu added that the national team has a very good attacking line and that he wants to contribute to it.
