ALBON: “THE CRASH WAS FERRARI’S FAULT”

Alex Albon stated that Ferrari was at fault in the crash with Oliver Bearman during the first practice session.

Williams driver Alex Albon pointed out that a lack of warning from Ferrari played a role in the incident involving Ferrari’s young driver, Oliver Bearman, at the Mexican Grand Prix. Albon believes that Ferrari did not alert Bearman early enough.

After the crash, Albon initially called Bearman “stupid” over the radio, but later softened his assessment, stating that the young driver was not at fault. Speaking to the media after the incident, Albon said, “From what I heard on the radio, I was told too late that I was coming from behind.”

“He was trying to accelerate, but we met in the worst part of the track. The speed difference was around 100 km/h.”

“I don’t blame myself, but the entire responsibility is not on Ollie either. Ferrari could have warned him better.”

“Of course, the speed differences in F1 are much greater than in F2, so it wasn’t his fault.”
