Alexandru Cicaldau set to join Mehmet Topal’s team! Signing imminent…

Galatasaray player Alexandru Cicaldau is on the verge of transferring to Petrolul Ploiești, coached by Mehmet Topal.

RETURNING TO HIS HOME COUNTRY
Having joined Galatasaray at the start of the 2021/2022 season but failing to meet expectations, Alexandru Cicaldau’s new destination has been confirmed. After spending the last two seasons on loan at different clubs, Cicaldau has agreed to a one-year loan deal with Romanian Liga 1 side Petrolul Ploiești. The 27-year-old is expected to arrive in Romania at 14:15 local time.

BECOMING MEHMET TOPAL’S PLAYER
Petrolul Ploiești, the club Cicaldau is set to join on loan, is coached by former Turkish international Mehmet Topal. Topal’s team currently sits in 5th place in the league with 13 points from 8 matches.

GALATASARAY WILL PAY HIS WAGES
According to reports from the Romanian media, Petrolul Ploiești will pay a loan fee to Galatasaray for Cicaldau. However, Galatasaray is expected to cover the player’s salary during his loan spell.

PLAYED 32 GAMES LAST SEASON
Last season, Alexandru Cicaldau was on loan at Konyaspor, where he made 32 appearances, contributing 1 goal and 2 assists for the green-and-white team.
