Balıkesirspor President Abdullah Bekki stated that they do not know why Coach Levent Eris left his position, saying, “Unfortunately, we learned that this is his habit. This coach changes teams every year. The man has character issues.”

At a press conference held at Balikesirspor’s facilities, President Bekki made important statements regarding the current status of the team and the sudden departure of Coach Levent Eris.

Starting with Levent Eris, President Bekki said, “At the beginning of the season, we wanted to agree with an experienced coach who would lead us to our goals. Later, we reached an agreement with Levent Eris, and we agreed on everything. However, even in the matches we won, we were never satisfied with the team’s performance. But we did not express this continuously to avoid criticizing the coach. After all, this was a process, and time was needed. On the contrary, we made efforts to meet all of the coach’s requests. We paid half of the annual salary, which is the advance for the salary he would earn in a season, in the first two months, excluding the championship bonus. So far, we have paid a total of 2 million 500 thousand TL. It is legally impossible for us to recover this. He had a receivable of 250 thousand TL for one salary payment, which we did not pay before the Cayeli match because I understood that the coach would leave. We are not sure why he left; we are also curious. We did not want him to leave; he left on his own. The players do not have many receivables; their payments are being made. Unfortunately, we learned that this is the coach’s habit. This coach changes teams every year. He takes 2 to 3 million liras from each team and leaves. He abandoned his future receivables. If he were right, would he leave? He is wrong. The man has character issues. A team cannot be abandoned in such a position. In the meeting we had with our players yesterday, we discussed our mutual expectations, and there was definitely no negative atmosphere.”

Providing information about the team’s current status, President Abdullah Bekki said, “Starting from Tuesday, Balikesirspor will be prepared by the youth coaches. We held a meeting with the youth coaches and players; we will face Tire with these coaches. The overall situation of the team is good. There is no issue. The search for a new coach is ongoing. We want the new coach to have academic training and to be technically and tactically efficient. We want them to have goals and to be young. Our research continues in this direction. We will proceed carefully.”
