BREAKING NEWS: Besiktas has announced that fans will not be allowed to attend the upcoming Lyon match in the Europa League.
Besiktas will face Olympique Lyon away in the 3rd week of the UEFA Europa League. After the decision of the Lyon Prefecture, the black and white club announced that Besiktas fans would not be allowed into the away stands.
CLUB STATEMENT
“The Lyon Prefect decided that our fans would not be allowed into the stadium or the city of Lyon for the UEFA Europa League match to be played on Thursday, October 24 at OL Stadium against Olympique Lyon.
In line with our club’s efforts to review this decision, a security meeting was held with the participation of the Lyon Prefecture, French Police, UEFA Security Unit, Turkish Football Federation Security Coordination, and Turkey NFIP. As a result of this meeting, the Lyon Prefecture’s decision was definitively confirmed due to the high security risk and the possibility of serious incidents like those in 2017.
We inform our fans that they will not be able to attend the away stands for the Olympique Lyon – Besiktas match and advise against making travel plans for this game to avoid any issues.”
